I met<\/span>Serik<\/span>*<\/span>\u00a0in Kazakhstan, where he told<\/span>\u00a0me<\/span>its\u00a0<\/span>history<\/span>:<\/span>-\u00a0<\/span>I was born into a Christian family in Kazakhstan.\u00a0<\/span>Ever since I was a little kid<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0I have heard the gospel.\u00a0<\/span>My grandmother<\/span>\u00a0joined the Orthodox Church and<\/span>\u00a0has always been personal<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0Christian<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>All my childhood she has<\/span>\u00a0brought me up in the Christian faith<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and she led me to\u00a0<\/span>Jesus<\/span>\u00a0at a very young age.\u00a0<\/span>I am very grateful to her for that.<\/span><\/p>\n

-\u00a0<\/span>I<\/span>1990\u00a0<\/span>began\u00a0<\/span>Soviet Union\u00a0<\/span>crumbling, and more and more freedom came to Kazakhstan. People were open to the gospel, and even though Kazakhstan was still part of the Soviet Union, Christians could now evangelize publicly and organize large meetings. One day there was\u00a0<\/span>a large\u00a0<\/span>evangelization event<\/span>\u00a0In my city<\/span>where 55,000 people<\/span>\u00a0participated<\/span>\u00a0-<\/span>\u00a0and luckily I was one of them. It was the first time I met evangelical Christians<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>At that meeting<\/span>\u00a0I made the decision to\u00a0<\/span>surrender\u00a0<\/span>my life<\/span>\u00a0to God and to the church.\u00a0<\/span>The event lasted a whole week<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and I came every day<\/span>.<\/span>A<\/span>Just a few days after the event, I went out and bought my own Bible<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>J<\/span>harrow<\/span>\u00a0had<\/span>\u00a0decided to seek out\u00a0<\/span>congregation<\/span>\u00a0Subsequent<\/span>but I lost the contact information for the church and didn't know<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0Where to go.\u00a0<\/span>The\u00a0<\/span>Almost<\/span>\u00a0five<\/span>year\u00a0<\/span>I had\u00a0<\/span>none\u00a0<\/span>contact to<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0church<\/span>\u00a0- l<\/span>Until I got to the<\/span>terribly\u00a0<\/span>at a birthday party in 1996 met\u00a0<\/span>\u00e9<\/span>n<\/span>who knew the church<\/span>. Finally got the<\/span>\u00a0Address.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Winner<\/span><\/b>\u00a0trials for persecuted Christians<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

-\u00a0<\/span>After several years in the church, I had the opportunity to attend Bible school<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>I jumped at the chance,<\/span>and during our stay we started a new church in<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0by<\/span>Where.\u00a0<\/span>I lived.\u00a0<\/span>E<\/span>t years after the first service, I was installed as\u00a0<\/span>priest<\/span>in the congregation<\/span>. It was very big for me to be involved in leading <\/span>congregation<\/span>.<\/span>J<\/span>harrow\u00a0<\/span>was given responsibility for<\/span>the diaconal work<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0I was on fire<\/span>\u00a0for reaching out and helping my<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0fellow human beings<\/span>.<\/span>But when we tried to get projects up and running, we encountered a lot of<\/span>\u00a0legal issues that prevented\u00a0<\/span>Bone\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>\u00a0that<\/span>\u00a0could\u00a0<\/span>Helping people<\/span>. I felt<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0It was here<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0I needed to use my energy. I had to<\/span>\u00a0had no experience in law,<\/span>\u00a0But I felt<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that God called me to\u00a0<\/span>Taking the fight<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0J<\/span>Oak purchase<\/span>t<\/span>e\u00a0<\/span>a lot of books and tried<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0improve my skills\u00a0<\/span>in the\u00a0<\/span>legal s<\/span>questions<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Today you can\u00a0<\/span>Driver<\/span>\u00a0I litigated many cases for the church<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0And thanks to God, we win many of them.\u00a0<\/span>I believe in<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that God has given me the gifts to\u00a0<\/span>Lead\u00a0<\/span>The lawsuits for the church<\/span>\u00a0-<\/span>\u00a0even though I'm not trained for it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Handcuffed in front of 100 children and 200 parents<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

-\u00a0<\/span>For more<\/span>\u00a0year<\/span>\u00a0page\u00a0<\/span>I was<\/span>\u00a0self-arrested and interrogated\u00a0<\/span>Due to<\/span>my work in the church. It was during an event<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0We called it \"Children's Day\"<\/span>.<\/span>V<\/span>i\u00a0<\/span>out<\/span>shared gifts for<\/span>\u00a0poor<\/span>\u00a0children in the local area and threw a party. In the middle of the event\u00a0<\/span>overturned<\/span>\u00a012 police officers<\/span>\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0and put me in handcuffs<\/span>\u00a0f<\/span>or the 100 children and 200 parents<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0who attended the party<\/span>. When I was taken away, there was a lot of unrest among the parents<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and several shouted<\/span>\u00a0to the police officers,<\/span>\u00a0that they should leave me alone. At the police station\u00a0<\/span>was<\/span>\u00a0I<\/span>\u00a0interrogated for two hours<\/span>. M<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>church was<\/span>\u00a0accused of being\u00a0<\/span>a cult<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0for<\/span>\u00a0Organizing illegal events<\/span>. The parents were very angry<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0When they heard<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0what I was accused of.\u00a0<\/span>After the long interrogation<\/span>\u00a0was<\/span>\u00a0I<\/span>\u00a0Released during\u00a0<\/span>The prerequisite<\/span>that I had to give a full account of the church's actions. The next day I took my<\/span>n priest dress<\/span>\u00a0on and went to the police station<\/span>. M<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0Me, I had<\/span>\u00a0four large binders<\/span>. They were<\/span>\u00a0filled with documents from the last three years.\u00a0<\/span>The mayor took a close look<\/span>\u00a0every single page<\/span>of the financial statements\u00a0<\/span>Through<\/span>\u00a0and eventually had to apologize. I got off with a reprimand about<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that I should let you know a month before the next event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Church social works breaks down skepticism towards Christians<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

-\u00a0<\/span>I am sure that<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that the angry parents have helped pressure the authorities to release me. I've even heard stories of<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that officials have gotten angry with the mayor<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0because he's been hard on the church. When they see<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that the church helps the poor and does good work<\/span>,<\/span>creates\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>A positive view of the church<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and it reduces the pressure on Christians<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0We help poor families, among others\u00a0<\/span>by handing out bags of food and clothing<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0so they can survive. Many of the families<\/span>no<\/span>\u00a0Not receiving help\u00a0<\/span>from the public sector<\/span>. When we help these\u00a0<\/span>familiar,<\/span>\u00a0See borge<\/span>r<\/span>in our city<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that Christians help even the weakest in society. It helps to break down prejudices<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>Christian<\/span>\u00a0and even leads several\u00a0<\/span>Kazakh<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0to faith in Jesus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-\u00a0<\/span>For some Christians in Kazakhstan, the persecution is\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>hard<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and the\u00a0<\/span>choose to\u00a0<\/span>travel out of the country. I am\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>Do not judge them<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0for<\/span>\u00a0It is<\/span>\u00a0Their choice to travel.\u00a0<\/span>But I'm sorry anyway. Because if\u00a0<\/span>we all leave behind\u00a0<\/span>Kazakhstan<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0we have been faithful to the calling and task that God has given us<\/span>?<\/span>I think<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0We must be persistent. We must be true to the call to spread the word of God<\/span> - also here in Kazakhstan<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0Even when we get hit by persecution.<\/span>\u00a0I remember the word that is written in\u00a0<\/span>The Bible<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>\"<\/span>Have they been following me<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0they will also persecute you.<\/span>\"<\/span>When\u00a0<\/span>the persecution\u00a0<\/span>really comes, I am dependent on God. I have to rely on<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that he can lead me through the tough times. He has promised<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0That he won't leave me in the lurch<\/span>\u00a0-<\/span>\u00a0And I trust that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Serik<\/span><\/i>\u00a0is a priest<\/span><\/i>,<\/span><\/i><\/i>and<\/span><\/i>\u00a0his<\/span><\/i>\u00a0m<\/span><\/i>Unity helps the poorest in the community through a soup kitchen where they can get hot meals and through the distribution of bags of food and clothing. More Kazakhs<\/span><\/i>e<\/span><\/i>\u00a0become curious about why Christians are helping them<\/span><\/i>. D<\/span><\/i>and opens their eyes to the Christian faith.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
