And m<\/span>with support from Danish European Mission's donors\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>Atilla<\/span>\u00a0in a project to produce high-quality videos about the Christian faith,\u00a0<\/span>as seen by many\u00a0<\/span>Young Turks.<\/span>\u00a0But he had a long walk before he came to faith himself. On a recent visit to Turkey, he told me after lunch about his faith journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How did you discover Christianity?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

As a starting point, I was s<\/span>kep<\/span>tically over\u00a0<\/span>My own beliefs<\/span>, Islam<\/span>. I\u00a0<\/span>felt a lack of miracles in Islam and began searching for other religions that had clear miracles<\/span>. Believe it or not, the first video I saw was <\/span>A video from<\/span>\u00a0the bombing of Hiroshima and\u00a0<\/span>Nagazaki<\/span>. Everything was destroyed, except for one\u00a0<\/span>church. It left me with big question marks and from here I started to search for more sp<\/span>ecific for Christian miracles.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What did you do after all your searching?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I went to a church service<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0because I had read something about the Holy Spirit. I wanted to see it. But I didn't find it,\" says\u00a0<\/span>Atilla<\/span>\u00a0in a cheerful voice. Instead, I heard a sermon about Jesus. Jesus was a lamb, but also a shepherd. God, but<\/span>\u00a0at the same time<\/span>\u00a0Human. Nothing made sense<\/span>\u00a0For me<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>So I said to myself: \"<\/span>I may not understand the philosophy of Christianity,<\/span>\u00a0but<\/span>\u00a0I can<\/span><\/span>Observe, <\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0the Christians<\/span><\/span>was somehow<\/span><\/span>different compared to other people I had met.<\/span>\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You didn't find the Holy Spirit, but did you find anything else?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, but only after some time. A priest told me that\u00a0<\/span>I should come to Jesus.<\/span>
\nIf I wasn't confused before, I was now!<\/span><\/span>If only Jesus was somewhere you could get to<\/span>?! After the service, the pastor came to see me<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and he asked if I wanted to\u00a0<\/span>come to Jesus. Even though I didn't fully understand it, I wanted to. That's why<\/span>\u00a0talked<\/span>\u00a0vi<\/span> For a long time. About the lamb and the shepherd. About the\u00a0<\/span>Jesus as\u00a0<\/span>God and man.\u00a0<\/span>The priest\u00a0<\/span>was himself a Turk and\u00a0<\/span>could therefore explain to me\u00a0<\/span>it into a Turkish context.\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And then you came to Jesus - or what happened<\/span><\/b>?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Yes!<\/span>\u00a0The priest explained to me that I could come to Jesus by praying<\/span>. So we prayed. The priest prayed and I prayed after.<\/span><\/span>That night, with the priest, I didn't feel anything<\/span>. However, it happened to<\/span>is something the following week. A Muslim friend of mine came to me and said<\/span>:<\/span><\/span>\"Atilla. I saw you in a dream. You were dirty.<\/span>t and were disappointed in yourself,<\/span>\u00a0but you were greeted by a<\/span> man who came down from the sky. H<\/span>He made you happy and proud. He made you clean.\"<\/span><\/span>I took<\/span>\u00a0confused<\/span>\u00a0Back to<\/span>to the priest and explained to him what my m<\/span>non-Muslim friend had said to me<\/span>.<\/span> I didn't find any deeper meaning in it. Since\u00a0<\/span>p<\/span>rest<\/span>\u00a0Heard it<\/span>\u00a0smiled<\/span><\/span>he<\/span>because he understood it well:<\/span>\u00a0I had become a Christian!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of<\/span>that it was a Muslim who had told me that<\/span> I had become a Christian, I didn't understand. So I defined it like this<\/span>God used the most unlikely man, a Muslim, to tell me that I had become a Christian!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How did your family react?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

When I became a Christian 10 years ago, my family was disappointed<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0and angry. I had dishonored the family and shamed them all.<\/span> It was difficult because my loved ones were shocked and wanted me to renounce my faith in Jesus. However, I was determined to remain a Christian.<\/span>
\nAs the years have passed<\/span>\u00a0my father has realized that I take my new faith seriously. However, I still dishonor them<\/span>, just<\/span> because I am not Muslim, but slowly they accept me. I strive to do good, to show them that I love them no matter what.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Do you share your faith with\u00a0<\/span><\/b>other<\/span><\/b>?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

In the beginning, I told everyone on my path that Jesus was real<\/span>! Everyone should know<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0Jesus was alive! However, I realized<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0that it wasn't working and started making amateur videos. I filmed my friends' conversion stories<\/span>\u00a0in different locations<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>It was a great time<\/span>but<\/span>\u00a0Fortunately, today I work more seriously with it<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>I work to spread the gospel among<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0Turkish youth via<\/span>\u00a0videos<\/span>\u00a0On the web<\/span>, among others.\u00a0<\/span>Youtube<\/span>that Turkish youth find interesting. It is a<\/span>exciting work for the glory of God<\/span>Atilla concludes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
