The situation has become especially difficult for children and babies crying for milk<\/span>. Among the new arrivals, there are around 350 young children and there is a severe lack of drinking water. Aid workers have just discovered that 85 families have no tents and are sleeping under trees, even though it can get cold at night.<\/p>\n

Sobhi, a man who is one of the new arrivals, recounted the severe terror he and his family experienced during the intense bombardments. They had to flee at night - in their pajamas, he, his wife and children<\/span>. They ran for their lives, without any possessions.<\/p>\n

When the relief team met Sobhi, as a husband and father, he stood crying, asking for shelter and milk for his children. The relief team helped this family in dire need.<\/p>\n

Every month, aid workers aim to provide infant formula, bread and drinking water to a total of 3000 newly displaced people<\/span>. Do you want to help these people in need?<\/p>\n

Hussein, a husband, is also among the surviving displaced people who fled with his wife Jasmin. During the escape, Hussein and Jasmin lost their two children, 12-year-old Mohammad and 9-year-old Nora\u00a0<\/span>year<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Jasmin suffered a paralyzing epileptic seizure as a result of the tragedy. The local church transferred her to the hospital and provided spiritual care to ease her deep grief and indescribable pain. The doctor said that this deeply traumatized couple needed both physical and psychological treatment. The local church paid for the treatment. Hussein and Jasmin are not Christians and they are very surprised that we Christians are helping them<\/span>.<\/p>\n

But it's not just Christians who receive emergency aid in our project. All people in need receive help, which is unique in the Middle East, where people typically only help their own. The aid is thus a powerful testimony of God's love for all people.<\/p>\n

Let me end with some words from local project manager Botros. He is a bold and compassionate man, even though he has suffered a lot and his family has been attempted murdered several times\u00a0<\/span>by Muslim extremists<\/span>.<\/p>\n

But he hasn't given up and hasn't run away, even though he and his family have had the opportunity many times. He is true to his calling to serve his people. He says: \"We want to bring hope and light to these people. They come from places where they may never have met a Christian, and they know nothing about\u00a0<\/em>The Gospel and Hope. Together we can make a difference now and be a blessing to them.\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Now is the time to help local Christian relief workers reach out to people in dire need in Syria. With our help, they can help people who have lost family members, lost their belongings, people whose lives have been uprooted.<\/p>\n

These people need shelter, tents, food and drinking water, and the babies need formula.<\/p>\n
