Turkey: Pray for martyr Michal Geske's daughter The t Turkey: Pray for martyr's daughter Michal Geske German Michal Geske, 31, tried to renew her existing student visa. It was refused as her residence permit had been vetoed. She has been told that she has ten days to leave the country. There was no explanation for this, according to the Danish European Mission's partner Middle East Concern. Michal Geske has lived in Turkey since she was three years old. She is a graduate student at the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) in Ankara, where she is completing her master's degree in philosophy and will submit her thesis on AI and ethics at the end of August. She is the daughter of Tilmann Geske, who was killed along with two Christian converts in 2007. Please pray for Michal Geske🙏🏼
From zero to 100 convert Christians in Libya In the sly From zero to 100 convert Christians in Libya In the late 1990s, there were 5-10 known indigenous Christians, but today there is a quiet church growth. Today, there are around 100 convert Christians in Libya. In total, there are just over 30,000 Christians in Libya, but the vast majority are Christian guest workers from countries such as Egypt, the Philippines and sub-Saharan Africa. Christians face opposition from the authorities, with Salafist Islamist groups acting as moral police in some cases, targeting Christians, atheists, feminists and sexual minorities. There are currently 12 Christians in prison, including Dia Balao who has been sentenced to death for apostasy. Many Christians also find that their families distance themselves as it is seen as shameful to convert. Some Christians are isolated while others meet in small underground churches. Thank you for praying for the young convert church in Libyen🙏🏼
Amidst secret meetings, interrogations and imprisonments, we Amidst secret meetings, interrogations and imprisonment, the underground church in Iran is growing.Summer Oasis 2025 raises funds for the Danish European Mission's work among persecuted Christians in Iran.Today, many Iranians live under strict religious control - and yet we are witnessing a spiritual awakening in the country. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians are believed to have converted to the Christian faith, and in underground churches they meet secretly to read the Bible. Therefore, Summer Oasis 2025 supports:📖 Printing and smuggling of New Testaments to Iran and nabolande⚖️ Legal and practical help for accused Christians and their familiesIt only costs DKK 60 to print and smuggle in a New Testament - and it makes a world of difference.
15 Christians killed in suicide attack at church in Dama 15 Christians killed in suicide attack in Damascus churchOne person set off a suicide bomb in a Christian church in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Sunday evening. In the attack, at least 15 people have lost their lives and 52 are injured.Syria's Ministry of Interior says that the perpetrator was a member of the Islamic State. However, it is worth noting that at the time of writing, the Islamic State has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Time will therefore tell if the Islamic State was indeed behind the terrorist attack. Under the leadership of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Sunni Islamist militants seized power in Syria in December 2024. HTS leader Ahmed al-Sharaa promised upon taking power that minorities, including Christians, would be free to live in Syria. Thank you for praying for Christians and other minorities in Syria during this time. Read more at persecutedchristians.dk
