The convert brothers, Alireza and Amir Nourmohammadi, along with convert Milad Goodarzi, were arrested on December 11, 2023. Milad was released after questioning, but Alireza and Amir remained detained for more than four weeks.
The brothers were released on January 10 after posting a bail of 300 million tomans (approximately 20,600 Danish kroner) each, according to Danish European Mission's partner, Middle East Concern.
The brothers are still accused
Friends and family of Alireza and Amir Nourmohammadi are grateful that they were conditionally released after their arrest in December, but ask for prayers as they face prosecution for their Christian activities.
They face charges of engaging in "deviant educational or propagandistic activities contrary to the sacred Islamic law by making false claims in religious fields."
Thank you for your prayers
Pray for that,
- The charges against Alireza and Amir are dropped.
- They and their families will be encouraged and empowered.
- The Iranian authorities must treat their citizens with dignity and respect.
